My views
Very Nice attempt.
Story line - Same as per indian standards, very much predictable. (But why to worry, if KARAN JOHAR can make very much predictable movies on gays, why can't anyone else)
When not all gays are feminine, when not all gays are 'All the time *** and lusty', when all the gaya are not just behind looks and muscles, why they portray such kind of characters only in the movies.
Similarly, I have seen very few people, even educated ones, who have a cool attitude about gays or who easily understand the gautam, and don't become fussy about them.
Then why Indian movies, portray only such characters in the gay theme based movies.
Anyways...
Trust me, I watches all 8 episodes of these season of the series, in one go.
It was so irresistible. Well directed, crisp writing, so far so good.
I wish we get more indian movies / web series / drama like this, ie based on gay stories. |

Just completed watching Oli and Christian German serial in YouTube.. loved both guys esp guy who acted as Christian..
Looks like it’s very famous during those days.. they are world famous too.. many bold action and kisses..
Just enjoyed every bit as story line also very good.. it’s show really positive side of gay life |

@headstailsandho I somewhat agree with you, this guy is becoming another Karan Johar who is all set to Sell dreams and make money, however i didn't like this Series a bit to be honest.
Few reasons being, Blued app as advertised in there series is purely for lust in India, I mean gimme a break who uses blued to date ?
Gays will be looked down for long in India and expecting Rural India to accept any gay relation is never going to happen, do not forget movie is set in Delhi outskirt, either Haryana or Punjab and Khap Panchayat is famous for there judgments.
Guys who look like models and and are any close to what Ankit (male Lead ) looks he wont even let any gay close to him forget about getting in relation, maybe a one night stand but that's about it.
Any fat gay guy ( i love them undoubtedly ) will never be able to get love with anyone in India, they are too sweet to be accepted here where Love is super cosmetic.(producer director is renowned photographer hence he gets lucky)
this movie is super hypothetical and Dramatic to be true, which i don't find any issue with what my issue is this movie maker has set bar too high for gays to be accepted and loved in rural India and a fat boy can be loved by a hunk which has a minute percentage to happen here because in India love is Cosmetic and consumes protein shake and counts on c##doms but ignores what lies in one heart.......

I agree with you that the web series is way far from reality, but most of the gay themed movies (even in abroad) are just hypothetical stories, including BBM.
But for me, this is a baby step in terms of making GTM in INDIA.
Also somehow in this, some gays have been shown feminine but equally some gays have been shown purely manly too. Some people bitchy about gaya and some respecting them. So the series has shown all type of folks here.
Not like DOSTANA, where gay mean feminines. Also, it did not show the main leads as *** seekers or opportunists.
Considering all these, I found it a good step.
Definitely, making real gay theme movies, is a difficult task commercially.
Who will pay the bills?
I hope we should not forget the fate of the movie on Prof Siras, or the movie I AM, or My Brother Nikhil... |

In a way I agree with you. Serious GTM in India- far from reality. This is just a baby step. Infact I am very good at imaginations and creating interesting plots. I always dream of some director who is interested in making a serious GTM would approach me and my "interesting plots" would one day see the silver screen. High dreaming- i know. But then sky is the limit of fantasy-right? Now coming to this movie the characters have been well portrayed but why would a gay stud fall in love with a chubby bulky gay- the logic fails pathetically. Apart from that the theme is good and screenplay is gripy with lots of eye candies. But negatives apart we all should first appreciate the attempt of this director. Infact his first series on 377 was even more interesting. Lets call it as baby step, lets appreciate these wonderful baby steps and lets wish the team greater success in their next attempt. |

I think portraying a Gay character as a normal human being will have larger target audience and will be more relevant to Indian context than showing a seemingly impossible match between a great looking and not so good looking male. The latter will be viewed mostly by Gay audience to see how a no so good looking gay guy finds true love.
Example : The movie Kapoor and Sons , is not an out and out Gay movie. It has a nice plot that resolves around family bonding and has a lovable and responsible son, friend, brother as one of the leads. He just happens to be gay.....
The focus is on his character not on his sexual preference......
At the end , for his family, his sexuality didn't matter :)

All of these are gay themed movies. Start with them and you'll start getting recommendations.
And don't miss SENSE 8. That is basically a sci fi series (2 seasons), but features a lot of LGBT characters and their stories... That is poetically the most intense LGBT themed series that I've ever watched... |

I am watching a lot of BL (boys love) Thai dramas. Some of them are really awesome. I understood myself and accepted myself after watching "Queer as Folks(US version).
Everyone should watch Queer as folks atleast once :-)

Now we must not forget to mention the recent LGBT themed gems in India...
1. 377 ab Normal - In this feature film by zee5, they have shown the real struggle of the people... True story and extremely inspiring...
2. Made in Heaven - hosted on Amazon Prime Video - not exactly a gay themed series, but one of the protagonists is gay and so the series deals with the struggles and feelings of gay people in a fantastic way. And Ankur Rathi & Vikrant Masse are just eye candies in their brief roles... ????
3. Evening Shadows - This is a coming out movie, hosted by Netflix. This is a story of a boy who comes out to his conservative family members. This is a story, which I think, every gay person will relate to. The conversation, the feelings, the treatment, the story overall was extremely relatable - at least to me. Simply loved this one. |

Evening shadows is such a brilliant movie, every gay who comes from a conservative Indian family can relate to. And characterizations and performances were impeccable. I sobbed through second half of the movie !! It moved me so much that I felt like it was happening to me. Fortunately this was not the case with what happened to me. Am out and still it feels tough to lead a life in general |

Just finished watching a new series named "Special" on Netflix. It's about a gay man with mild cerebral palsy, so he had weak coordination between his brain and muscles.
It was a beautifully created series and it is the real experience of the writer and director who acted as the main character himself. Though it has many clicheds, but I loved the series overall... Waiting for the second season... |

If you are in a mood for a mushy romantic gay love story then 10 year plan is a good watch. Although I am not much into mushy romantic comedies some of you might like it. Both the lead actors are very good looking. It's about 2 men (best friends) who decide to get married to each other if they don't find anyone worthwhile in the next 10 years. One is a die hard romantic and a lawyer and the other is a cop and commitment phobic. It's close to 10 years and both of them dont find their perfect partner. How they finally fall in love and get together is the story. It's light and breezy. Typical Hollywood style in the end. Overall a one time watch - Anyone in a romcom mood.must watch this.

Guys fantastic gay themed tamil webseries- america mappillai in Zee5. Unfortunately it is a paid webportal. But loved the concept. The two guys who have acted as protogonist-Arjun Chidambaram and Gokul Anand are hot. But no skin show. The webseries talks about coming out in a semi conservative family. Nice. |
