Who from Bangalore or surrounding areas is planning to go to Thrissur Pooram this year?
Any idea about Thrissur Pooram dates and events flow. Anyone who attended previous year Pooram please provide some insights and any cautions as this is my first visit.

I am skeptical of Thrissur Pooram happening with same fanfare with rise in Covid cases by the day. Will there be restrictions for outsiders in Thrissur if at all Pooram happens? It's for the govt to decide right from hotel accommodations to arrangements on the temple campus. Fingers crossed! |

Hi, i m kren to visit d event from Bangalore but sceptical about the where abouts of travel requirement considering movie. Any notification from temple authority n kerala moh n tourism on this |
|

Till now there are no restriction for visitors, if you are staying less than one week here and going back there is no need to get tested or quarentine...for those who is coming to stay more than one week need to be tested ..non sense rule.... anyway its much diluted these days as more n more tourist spots are open...its not possible to ask each everyone for test result on pooram...so guys no worries..... |
|
No Picture raju1987 | Posted On Mar 28, 2021
I am also concerned about the restriction and requirements for test |

I booked a hotel online in Thrissur for Pooram. But two days back I got a call from hotel saying that they are not allowing people from outside of Kerala to stay and they say that it's the decision of Thrissur Collector not to allow anyone outside Kerala to be given rooms for stay(Not sure if this is for real or they are simply saying) They infact told me to cancel my booking in the pretext of Corona. Pooram for sure is happening but will outsiders like us get a place to stay is a big question mark currently. Another option is if Thrissur decides not to let outsiders stay in their hotels, then we can book accomodation is nearby Aluva or Chalakudy or Ernakulam and visit Pooram. |

Can anyone who booked the hotel in Thrissur for Pooram confirm on this? I just don't know if that's really the case of local administration blocking the hotels for outsiders or is it the hotel itself who want to use this opportunity to earn more by not letting people so easily to stay? I am confused. |

Guys what exactly is this pooram festival |
|
No Picture LetsHookUp | Posted On Mar 29, 2021
Thanks versatileec. This helps...But how n where we can hook up with folks if we r staying far away from the event place...So it doesn't make sense to b far away n atau other place. Also u never know tat hotel of chalakudy n other place may also pose restriction |
|

@ letshookup- there was a meeting held at dist collector s desk...on Today's news paper its clearly written that there won't be any restrictions for number of people and age bar to visit pooram..there was no mention abt inter district travellers....these days one or other day different temple riots are happening n there is no restriction announced yet...... standard covid protocol will be applicable anyway....you hv to show the purpose of visit while talking pass...no quarentine is needed or no restrictions at hotels are there till now......some hotels are not giving online booking with their normal price..they wants to hike price so compelling reserved guys to cancel tickets...make sure they will accommodate you before booking the rooms...dont forget to ring them.. |

I have a room booked at Peninsula. But I got a call from a lady there saying they will charge for the visitors.. 3000 per head!! So I called back the next day and checked for the same and the guy said no restrictions! I think they are calling all the people who made online reservations at a lower price and tell them this nonsense so that they cancel and they can give the rooms for a higher price later! @lonleyboy100: Thank you for the recommendations. Are the lodges u mentioned clean and safe? |
|
No Picture lonelyboy100 | Posted On Mar 29, 2021
@versatileec- its not wise to book rooms such a far distance from town, it wont be any use...there will be restrictions for taxis n public vehicles ,also you cant take guys to hookup such a long distance..no one will be ready to come...also when you get tired of walking around you may need to take rest or freshen up...so dont think of booking hotels at far distance |
|
No Picture lonelyboy100 | Posted On Mar 29, 2021
@Pradeepms- you can get lot of hotels and lodges if you google ..call them and book your rooms.... |
|
No Picture lonelyboy100 | Posted On Mar 29, 2021
@southieback- one of my friend had same issue at Peninsula, they were available at cheap rate till last week, as they didn't update their rare with online booking sites..so they keep calling those booked their rooms and asking them to cancel.... I think emrald is reasonable...2400 for single non ac rooms...two can take n share the price...hotel kovilakam and pearl international is affordable 3000 for double room non ac...both are 3 star...donno if its available |

Pooram isnt that happeneing since last 2 years before covid, i remember being there at the orgy venue and it is visited frequently by BJP men who threaten guys n prevent from having any open ***, so the max one can do is have *** in rooms. |

Is there any action at this festival? Anything special? |
|
No Picture LetsHookUp | Posted On Mar 29, 2021
Any body visiting from Bangalore for the event |
|
No Picture versatileec | Posted On Mar 30, 2021
@lonelyboy100, Thanks for your inputs. And yes, you are right. The hotels that I booked told me to cancel not because of Covid regulations but rather they wanted to earn more during Pooram and rejected online bookings. Later I enquired another hotel and booked the room 😊
@LetsHookuUp, Yes, I agree that booking accommodation at nearby towns is not good because it defeats the purpose totally.
And latest news is that Thrissur Pooram will happen with full grandeur like in yesteryears and Covid protocols will be followed. So expect normalcy to return to this year's Pooram.
Guys, those who want to book hotels, please call the hotel directly and reserve/book the room. Online reservations might be rejected due to lesser price shown.

Guys, there are news that from 1st April 2021, anyone moving to and from Kerala to Karnataka and vice versa - had to produce RT PCR negative report taken within 72 hours of the travel. This is even released in online
If that's true then thats going to create a blocker in traveling Anyone in the forum have any idea over the authentication of this news?
