This park is conected to many parks that follow the histotical Rouge river,This park begins at lake ontario and travels north west through markham ontario to holland marsh.Many hiking trails and bike paths.They say that this newest park is larger than New Yorks central park.There are two rouge rivers in the same area the big and the little and they connect at twin rivers at shepard ave,and elesmere rd in scarborough.The woodlands in the center of the park system. free parking.Movies are always being filmed in this park.used to be a boyscout camp in the 1920s.A quite walk about not far from torontos metro Zoo.The park system has recently updated trails,boardwalks,there are ponds and waterfalls.gay birders club meets here on weekends.who goes here?fishermen,cross country skiers,dog walkers,hikers,office workers,married men,horse back riders,artists and movie makers.A very dense woodlands many hike the smaller rouge river near the hydro fields,safe,ages 18 to around 60 from what i have seen.No camping allowed.no washrooms.Bring your own water. not a place to sit in your car. but no harm in doing that as long as you respect families that also go there. summers beware that movies are shot there.you could end up on film.ask before you enter a filming set.they have signs saying if there is a movie being made,there are deer and wolves but they wont bother you.poison ivy and poison oak in the high grasses stay on the marked trails, enjoy yourself and play safe.only bears are two legged ones.
