What is up with all these freeloaders in the city?

Submitted by mojoxl Location: Kolkota (West Bengal, India)

Has anyone here - while making plans to hook up in paid rooms/ hotels - encountered people who expect you bear the entire cost of the room so that they can simply come, have their share of fun & simply up and leave? Its embarrassing to see even grown *** individuals blatantly refusing to pay their half but willing to use such venues at other's expense! If one cannot afford it, he should simply say so and move on and not expect charity. jeez!

What else do u expect from the crowd in bengal? They are as cheap as it gets. All the parasites, leeches and frustrated ppl are found in abundance here

Being a bengali settled in Delhi I can not agree more with the comment. Kolkata is indeed a place full of cheap people who wants everything free. Every second person is looking for a sugar daddy. I even have experience when someone invited me to his place and the last moment wanted me to carry condoms and beer. Imagine someone can not even afford condoms! The gay scene here sucks.

@burjuman this is a typical experience! these guys have a lot of ego when it comes to saying that they cannot afford something, but won't feel a bit hesitant to ask others to spend on them

Look around u... this city is full of gundas, beggars and extortionists who only survive on "contacts". Won't work an inch to earn money even if they can.

You tell them anything and they will immediately throw their pseudo-intellectual gyan at u and call u names like racist and elitist and start sloganeering.

Looking_around completely agree. They think they are above others and have all sorts of names for others. All they have is pride about their past and false sense of being an intellectuals. I have seen such people anywhere else in the world.

wow ....strong words . Honestly being a bengali it pains me a lot but calling a spade a spade is something i do appreciate. The vibe i get living in kolkata (in the gay circuit that is) most of the people have got used to freebies thanks to our political dispensation over the decades. Also they are not in terms with homosexuality, and cannot think waist up . Being gay is not just about *** ... and sleeping with someone is not a favor . The day they are going to understand this hopefully this trend would finally get eradicated.

Just differ on one point though. To bask in the glory of the past one does need an enriched past . Bengali Renaissance did provide the current generation with that enriched cultural heritage. As the Romans feel proud of their heritage , as the Egyptians does , the English of their monarchy i too take pride in my roots.

@Bengalbottom I dream and act keeping my eyes open. onething an enriched past imparts is hope, that the current "bleak and dark" state is just a passing phase . Without hope and aspirations of better days there would be no effort to change the present. No point in being critical of the present if you don't have the urge to change it.

ORAL MAN: Terribly sorry, but this habit of getting used to freebies and expecting others to pay for you has nothing to do with "political dispensation over the decades". I know of dozens of people here who have NOTHING whatsoever to with politics, yet they have this trait of expecting ppl to sponsor them and serve them w/o any reason.

Yes, it's true that majority of the politically inclined are shameless and are used to getting sponsored while they sit at home. But that is not the case with everyone.

This is a general habit of the ppl here. So, let's not oversimplify.

@Oralman There can be no excuse for the disgusting behaviour of the gay community in kolkata. Do not blame the politics or anything else. It is the nature of most Kolkata gays. Harsh but true.

I am from Kolkata and willing to share half of the expenses always. But this is a fact that most of the people act like misers and they would not fork out a single Paisa. And there are many who would ask for money as well

Its just not limited to bengal , even neighbouring states have same issues. In my local area i have encountered 5-6 guys asking money in following pretext:-
1. Money for travelling because your location is too far
2. Nagging and complaining about their financial issues
3. Asking money for drinking or booze
4. Asking money for buying protection
5. And lastly "cheap paid guys"

Hi Dreamybott,
I had the same issues/scenario in Delhi, I met few young boys on grindr and all of those boys claimed that they work in office and will meet me after their work around 7PM.
These boys were honest upfront saying that they didn't have enough money for taxi and they didn't want to take public transportation because it takes lot of time to get to my hotel
and to get back to their nhome. Depending upon how far they lived from my hotel, they requested from Rs. 1500 to 2000. All those guys were young and good looking so I didn't mind giving them the
traveling expenses. I had no problems with this guys at all they behaved very polite and courteous and most importantly, I had very good *** with all of them. After having *** with the boys, I ate dinner with them at my hotel, I gave them more than what they initially asked; two boys didn't take the extra money but the third boy took the extra money and was very appreciative and thankful.

It's not only in Bengal, it's same everwhere....one of my juniors had visited Prayag this year, and hooked up with a Hariyanvi Police Man on duty..That police demanded for money for having *** with him, and later post the encounter even made him buy milk and apples for him..the excuse was that he had cummed; so he needed proteins...(don't know whether milk and aplles provide Protein or not)...while during the ***, he was pleading the young man to let him f..k him....they had oral only.
Again another time, the same boy had approached a railway attendant in the AC Coach.. The guy agreed but said " Mera Charge de do; mai injection de doonga." In the night he came to the birth where my junior ws sleeping, they went under the same blanket, and my junior gave a blowjob to that man...he cummed in his ***...He then went back after taking rs. 200 from that boy.. This happed in telengana, and that railway man was a Uphite...
There are so many instances where people demand money in favour of ***..so I think it would be wrong to say that it happens only in Bengal....May be the person who has this opinion, had such experience here..but it happens everwhere...

Bicuriousman: there's a v thin line of difference btwn ppl who ask money for *** (like u described so nicely) and ppl who only want fun at a paid place without willing to share the expenses. we r discussing the latter.

Looking at the discussions I want to share a piece of my opinion.
When I was much younger i thought its very wrong to take money against *** . But now my opinion has changed.
I think some one who is asking money upfront with full disclosure about his charges is no problem at all. U don't know what a person is going through and what made him do that. Though it's a easy way to earn money . But there are plethora of people who would like to avoid taking money. And it's not that they are holding u on gun point asking for money. You need something they are monetizing it as simple as that. It's just basic demand and supply nothing else. But on the other side there are few people who asked to meet then they kind of blackmail you to pay money and that's very very wrong that's mostly a crime . And I am very much against that. But if someone ask for money a front it's up to you whether you want to pay for it or not as simple as that. I never ask for money for having fun but there are people who paid me forcefully just to take care of my travelling expense and I denied initially but they kind of forced it upon. And every time I meet them they pay me money but it's not that I am meeting them every week it's not really about money I meet them once in two or three months or may be 6 months.
Thank you. Hope i didn't hampered anyone's dignity.
